Lorain Concrete was founded in 2023 right here in Lorain, Ohio, by a crew that grew up watching what Lake Erie winters do to driveways, sidewalks, and foundations. We started the business because we kept seeing the same problems in this area - slabs poured on inadequate bases, driveways that cracked after the first hard winter, patios that heaved and pooled water against people's homes. We knew there was a better way to do it.
Lorain has older homes. Most of the housing stock in this city was built before 1960, and those properties have their own set of challenges - clay soil that shifts with moisture, aging foundations, and decades of freeze-thaw damage that adds up. We built our process around those realities. Every base we dig is sized for Lorain conditions, not for somewhere with a gentler climate.
Today we serve 12 cities across northern Ohio, covering everything from a single driveway replacement in South Lorain to commercial parking lots and foundation work for new construction.
